Surprisingly enough, what I wanted to be a budget trip turned into a fabulous eating tour! I didn't expect eating out at all because of the renowned prohibitive prices in Norway. Well, eating out IS luxury in Oslo but when you go visit a serious food-lover like my Norwegian friend, you can't go wrong. We've been to the best, cheapest places for lunch (or better, we had generous brunches at home) and saved the main meal for dinner. For instance we had this beautiful, wonderfully fresh and perfectly-sized salmon bagel at Cafe Albertine. The restaurant is full of charm, serves modest, delicious, both traditional and international dishes at reasonable prices and is ideally located in the middle of promenade Aker Brygge (Oslo Harbour). When the sky is crystal-clear, you can't hope for a better place to have decent food and enjoy a view.
